Do we offer delivery & setup?
Yes — delivery is included, but the details vary depending on the type of building you choose. ⚫Portable Buildings (sheds, cabins, specialty buildings): Most sheds and cabins are delivered fully built on skids and placed directly on your prepared site. We offer free delivery within 50 miles of our lot for off-lot inventory. If you’re outside that range, we’ll be happy to give you a delivery estimate. Custom orders also include free delivery to most areas across Texas. Once your order is finalized, delivery typically takes 7–14 business days, weather permitting. ⚫Metal Buildings & Carports: All metal buildings and carports include free professional installation by our on-site crew. A level surface or concrete slab is required before setup. Installations are usually scheduled 2–4 weeks out, depending on your site readiness, weather, and seasonal demand. We also offer metal building kits if you’d prefer to handle the installation yourself. ⚫Decks & Porches: Decks and porches are delivered and set up free within 130 miles of our build shop in Itasca, TX. For longer distances, we’ll confirm whether we can deliver and provide a transparent delivery fee. Because most decks are built to order, production usually takes 6-8 weeks, depending on the season and shop demand.
What site prep is required?
Great question! Site preparation is one of the most important steps to make sure your new building is set up safely and correctly. The requirements vary depending on the type of building you’re ordering. ⚫Portable Buildings (sheds, cabins, specialty buildings): Most of these buildings are delivered fully built on skids and set directly onto your prepared site. You’ll want to make sure there’s clear access for the delivery trailer, which may mean checking the width of gates, the height of tree branches, or the space between existing fences or structures. If access is too tight, ask us about an on-site build option. The spot where your building will sit should be as level as possible. Our drivers provide wood blocks to help with leveling, but we recommend having concrete blocks or pavers ready for a sturdier setup. We don’t provide those blocks, but we’ll happily help you estimate how many you’ll need. Finally, always know the location of underground utilities like water, electric, or sewer lines before delivery. If you’re not sure, call 811 for assistance. ⚫Metal Buildings & Carports: Metal structures must be installed on a level site—dirt, gravel, asphalt, or a concrete slab are acceptable. We don’t provide site prep or concrete work, but we can give you clear specs so your site is ready. The installation area should also be free of obstacles within 2–3 feet on all sides. In some cases, customers want their building erected over a fixed object (like an RV, pump station, or other stationary equipment). That’s no problem, but we do need to know about it in advance. As with portable buildings, customers should know the location of any underground utilities before installation, and calling 811 is the best way to confirm. ⚫Decks & Porches: For decks and porches, you’ll want to prepare in a similar way to our portable buildings. Make sure the delivery path is clear of obstacles such as trees, gates, or fencing, and confirm there’s enough room for our delivery trailer to reach your site. Any existing porch or deck will need to be removed prior to delivery. As with all installations, it’s important to know the location of underground utilities by contacting 811. Our crew provides the concrete blocks needed for leveling, so you don’t have to worry about supplying those.
Do we offer rent to own & financing?
Yes! We make it easy to bring home your new building with flexible payment options. Whether you’re looking at a shed, a metal garage, or a custom porch, we have plans to fit your needs. ⚫Portable Buildings (sheds, cabins, specialty buildings): Our most popular option is no-credit-check rent-to-own, with terms available at 36, 48, and 60 months. In many cases, just one monthly payment down is all it takes to get started. There are no penalties for early payoff, and rental return options are available if your situation changes. Rent-to-own is a great way to enjoy your building right away while paying toward full ownership. We also accept outside financing through your personal bank, credit union, or preferred lender. ⚫Metal Buildings & Carports: For metal structures, we offer both flexible rent-to-own and traditional credit-based financing. Plans typically range from 24 months up to 72 months, depending on the project. We also run same-as-cash promotions from time to time. Once we’ve discussed your project, we’ll provide a full building quote that includes payment options and down payment requirements. If you have a preferred lender you like to work with just let us know!. ⚫Decks & Porches: Just like our portable buildings, decks and porches qualify for rent-to-own with terms from 24 to 48 months. No credit check is required, and you can pay off early at any time without penalty. For orders under $6,000, just one payment down gets the process started. We’re also glad to work with traditional credit-based financing if you have a preferred lender.
Do our buildings have warranties?
Yes! Every new building, porch, or deck purchased through Angus Portable Buildings includes manufacturer warranties. The coverage depends on the type of building you select, but each warranty is designed to give you peace of mind that your investment is protected. ⚫Portable Buildings (sheds, cabins, specialty buildings): Our Derksen buildings come with a 5-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship for our standard line, and a 3-year limited warranty for the Best Value line. In addition, many of the materials—such as metal roofing, shingles, treated lumber, and siding—are covered by the manufacturer’s product warranties. Please note that pre-owned buildings are sold as-is and do not include warranty coverage. ⚫Metal Buildings & Carports: Metal structures are backed by manufacturer warranties that typically include a one-year leak warranty and up to a one-year workmanship warranty. On top of that, 12-gauge framing carries a rust-through warranty of up to 20 years. All structures installed by our crews are engineer-certified and anchored to meet standard wind ratings of up to 140 mph. ⚫Decks & Porches: Decks and porches built by Hershy Decks include a one-year workmanship warranty. This ensures your structure is set up correctly and ready to last.
Do I need a permit for my building?
Great question—and it’s smart to be thinking about this before you order! The short answer is: it depends. Permit requirements vary by city and county, and Angus Portable Buildings can’t determine whether your specific property will need one. What we can do is help. If your local municipality requires a permit, we’ll gladly provide the building specifications or contractor details you need to complete the application. The best way to know for sure is to contact your local city or county office directly. Being proactive about permitting helps avoid delays and ensures your building can be installed without issues.
